All the revenue the companies get from the increase in fares for urban electric transport will boost the wages of employees and will also go to the repair and overhaul of equipment, Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin announced in an exclusive interview with a correspondent of the DPR Official Website.
“We have not increased the fares since 2014. It was done, let us say, intentionally. It was a kind of assistance, support to the population. But we realize that the resource is limited, and now the wages of trolleybus and tram drivers and other employees of these companies remain extremely low. Moreover, the equipment breaks down, and it is extremely complicated to carry out the repair and overhaul. Correspondingly, all the revenue raised after the increase will go to the wages of employees. The repair and overhaul will be next, of course,” Denis Pushilin noted.
We shall remind that the fare for urban electric transport in Donetsk, Makeyevka, Gorlovka, Khartsyzsk, and Yenakiyevo has been increased since February 1, 2020. Now, the fare for trams, trolleybuses and large-sized buses makes 5 to 6 RUB.
