DPR Minister of Foreign Affairs Natalya Nikonorova, in her interview with a correspondent of the DPR Official Website, spoke about the peculiarities of the Minsk negotiation process under Poroshenko and under Zelensky.
“The negotiation process has changed somewhat under Zelensky, representatives of the Ukrainian side have been replaced in some groups. The stance has become more loyal and softer demonstratively. But in reality, they never evinced a result-oriented approach. That is, if Kiev’s representatives were really committed to a constructive dialogue and appropriately instructed by the President, we think that this would be implemented in the Minsk negotiation process. So far, we see that they are trying to demonstrate their commitment to dialogue just nominally.
The media assumes the same stance. If under Poroshenko we heard direct threats that they needed to mop up us all and so on, now there are fewer such statements, but they still are, they still represent the true intentions of the Ukrainian authorities and this does not mean that they are no longer absurd in terms of the possibility of their implementation. The goals and real actions, unfortunately, have not changed,” Natalya Nikonorova said.
