On November 11, the Russian Center of the Donetsk Republican Universal Scientific Library named after Krupskaya hosted a round table on the topic of “Issues of the development of international interethnic cooperation and public organizations’ interaction based on the experience of the Russian Federation.” According to the correspondent of the official website of the DPR, the event was attended by deputies of the DPR People’s Council, representatives of the Trade Unions Federation, the DPR Youth Parliament, the Young Republic and Russian Center public organizations, national and cultural organizations and communities of the Donetsk People’s Republic, and honoured guests from the Leningrad Region of the Russian Federation. They discussed the three issues on the agenda: the establishment of interethnic relations between the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Russian Federation; consideration of cooperation vectors of public organizations of the DPR and the Leningrad Region in the framework of the Integration Programme; and experience of interaction between government bodies and religious organizations.

“Today’s event once again demonstrates the ongoing process of integration of the Donetsk People’s Republic into Russia’s space. Now this is happening at the level of public institutions. We are happy to host guests from the Leningrad Region, representatives of national communities came to us as part of their delegation. Both in our country and in the Russian Federation there are similar national communities of Belarusians, Poles. This is another step towards the complete integration of our states,” Alexander Kofman, Chairman of the DPR Public Chamber, said during the roundtable meeting.

According to the Head of the Council for Interethnic Cooperation regional non-governmental association, deputy of the Vsevolozhsky District of the Leningrad Region, Yuri Palamarchuk, such peacekeeping missions through inter-ethnic relations relations are very important.

“Through our specific example, we speak of peace, friendship and harmony between nations. We would be pleased to share with you the experience we have accumulated in this field, our best legacy. The tapestry of the peoples of the Russian Federation is very large, Donbass is a multinational region as well – therefore, there is something to tell and something to share, something to learn. The primary focus of such a process should be inter-ethnic harmony and inter-religious peace – all these make up a creative process driving us forward,” he said.
