The forces oppositional to the Kiev authorities continue to pursue the policy aimed at exacerbating the situation along the contact line and escalating the conflict in Donbass, official spokesperson for the DPR People’s Militia Dmitry Astrakhan reported at the daily briefing.

“In addition to organizing rallies in the interior of the country, with a view to thwart the efforts to disengage forces and assets and undermine confidence in the current President, the opposition has turned its attention to the AFU personnel stationed in the Joint Forces Operation zone. Thus, on November 7, in the responsibility zone of the 92nd brigade in Avdeyevka there was detected the arrival of ex-President of Ukraine P. Poroshenko. The choice of the place to visit was no accident, since the area of Avdeyevka is one of the sites for the parties’ disengagement.

According to our information, Poroshenko held a meeting with the personnel, during which they were offered financial assistance for foot-dragging the disengagement process in this area, and were called on to ignore this process.

Among the Joint Forces Operation command there as well persons opposing the disengagement of the parties. For instance, yesterday, Vice-Commander B. Bondar said that no disengagement of forces and assets would be held in other areas due to the onset of winter.

That sort of visits and statements only fuel the situation and split the disengagement supporters and the instigators, sabotaging disengagement-related issues.”
