A ceremonial parade of the military units of the People’s Militia Directorate took place near the monument “To our liberators, Donbass!” in the Lenin Komsomol park in Donetsk on November 12. This event was dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the DPR PMD. According to the correspondent of the official website of the DPR, Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin congratulated the military on the anniversary.
“Comrade military men! I congratulate you on the 5th anniversary of the creation of the People’s Militia of the Donetsk People’s Republic! Your story is a chronicle of courage, courage, responsible service to your Fatherland, your Homeland. Further on, the Head of the Republic presented state awards to two combat units of the DPR PMD. By Decree of the Head of the DPR No. 324, for feats and honours in the battles to defend the Donetsk People’s Republic, the military unit 08819 of the DPR People’s Militia was awarded the Order of the Republic. Denis Pushilin attached the state award to the unit’s banner.
By Decree of the Head of the DPR No. 325 for mass heroism and courage, courage demonstrated by personnel in the battles to defend the Donetsk People’s Republic, the military unit 08810 was awarded the honorary title of a Guards Unit. Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin attached a guards ribbon to the banner of this combat unit.
“I want to congratulate everyone on this day of a big date — the fifth anniversary of the defenders of our Fatherland! You have actually proved that you can safely wear this uniform, you have proven in practice that you are true defenders of your country. The enemy is aware of who is standing against it and fears us! Thank you very much for that! It is hard military work — to protect your nearest and dearest, your land, memory, and history. But any country will always stand by this,” Colonel Eduard Basurin, Vice-Commander of the DPR People’s Militia Directorate said during the event.
As Archpriest Andrei, assistant to the Commander of the DPR PMD for work with the religious military personnel, emphasized, today is an important date, which serves as a manifestation of the Greatest mercy of God, the help of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who saves and protects all the people of Donbass.
“They lead us through our lives, wishing us wellbeing, while giving us the strength to defend our Fatherland!” he said.
The parade of the combat units of the DPR PMD on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of its creation ended with the performance of the DPR National Anthem to the sounds of artillery salute and the solemn march of military personnel.
