Today, on November 14, the capital of the Donetsk People’s Republic hosts the opening of the 3rd Donbass International Medical Forum called “Science of Victory… Over Illness.” According to the correspondent of the official website of the DPR, the event was attended by Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka, DPR Minister of Health Olga Dolgoshapko, Rector of Donetsk National Medical University named after M. Gorky, Grigory Ignatenko, as well as guests from the LPR, the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation.

“Such forums are very important for our state, given that the Donetsk People’s Republic not only possesses a developed medical industry, but is also a talent pool for personnel trained at the M. Gorky Medical University. Delegations of doctors from friendly countries arrived at our Forum to exchange experiences, new practices and achievements in the field of medicine. This event will also help improve the legislative system of the DPR in the field of medicine and healthcare,” Vladimir Bidyovka said.

Besides, the Minister of Health of the DPR noted that the Forum is essential for the advancement of medicine throughout Donbass and brings together scientists, physicians, practitioners, healthcare managers, lecturers from different regions of not the Donetsk People’s Republic along, but also neighbouring countries.

“Shortly before, at the International Investment Forum, we signed a formal cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Health of the Lugansk People’s Republic and the next step was the participation of the LPR delegation in the 3rd Donbass International Medical Forum of Donbass “Science of Victory… Over Illness.” Within the framework of the event, it is planned to discuss issues of anesthesiology, rheumatology and intensive care, pediatrics, traumatology and orthopedics, infectious diseases, immunology, epidemiology, general surgery, oncology, and transplantology,” Olga Doloshoshapko said.

Over four thousand people registered to participate in the Forum. Breakout sessions will be held at 23 panels, there will be presentations on various branches of medical science.
