Specialists of the DPR Ministry of Transport have inspected the progress of the works for the restoration of the Uglegorsk railway station building which had been severely damaged due to hostilities, the agency’s press office reports.

Employees of the Donetsk Railway State Enterprise continue the restoration of the Uglegorsk railway station complex. The works are being conducted by separate units of the construction and engineering and civil facilities construction services of the Donetsk Railways State Enterprise in accordance with the approved project.

In the course of the inspection, the specialists of the Department for Railway Transport of the DPR Ministry of Transport have made sure that the external works had actually been completed by 90%. The roof has been completely restored and the installation of metal-plastic windows has been completed, the brickworks of the outside walls and the load-bearing beams inside the premises have been completed, the foundation has been built up around the perimeter of the building. The porch of the building has been restored and stabilized. The works on external power and water supply networks have been completed.

Along with that, the specialists of construction utility services departments of Ilovaisk, Donetsk and Yasinovataya have already erected the retaining wall of the station and are lining it, electric wiring and a heat supply system are being installed in the station building.

As will be recall, the restoration of the Uglegorsk railway station complex, which sustained significant damage due to the hostilities of 2014-2015, was launched on April 1, 2019. The reconstruction project provides for almost complete renovation of the facility.

After all the necessary works are completed, the station building will take on a new modern look and become a worthy link on the railway line connecting Donetsk and Lugansk.
