The Ukrainian military command from among the supporters of Ukraine’s ex-president Poroshenko perseveres in its attempts to destabilize the situation in the joint forces operation zone to thwart the peacebuilding process of conflict settlement, the urgent statement from an official representative of the DPR People’s Militia Directorate reads.
“After president of Ukraine V. Zelensky appointed I. Bakanov as the chief of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), a serious confrontation has emerged between the newly appointed officials and Poroshenko’s proxies, who openly criticize the current government and disagree with the policy pursued by the authorities in Donbass.
Taking advantage of their special powers, they instruct subordinate special forces to carry out various kinds of sabotage near the line of combat contact in order to thwart the Normandy format meeting on December 9. If their plan comes true, the president of Ukraine will be discredited in the eyes of the international community as a guarantor of the stabilization of the situation in Donbass and the person obliged to keep Ukrainian militants under control.
The deaths of the two lieutenant colonels, snipers from the SBU Special Force Alpha, prove this and testify to the fact that in order to carry out its task, the SBU has engaged the elite of its special forces. It is also possible that despite their subordination to the command staff of the joint forces operation, SBU officers do their “play-from-behind-the-scenes”, which runs counter to V. Zelensky’s policy,” the DPR PMD representative stated.
