Today, on December 9, in Yelets (Lipetsk region, Russia), mayor of Gorlovka Ivan Prikhodko and head of the urban district of Yelets Yevgeny Borovsky signed an agreement between the cities aimed at the development of friendly relations on interaction and expansion in terms of historical and cultural, patriotic and socio-economic cooperation.

In association with the Russian Center, the Donetsk People’s Republic was represented by a delegation of four people, including representatives of Gorlovka’s administration and the DPR Public Chamber.

“The priority areas of our bilateral cooperation are the development of relations in the field of culture, education and youth policy.

The main agreement at the moment is the beginning of close cooperation between I.A. Bunin Yelets State University and Gorlovka Foreign Languages Institute. Currently, 22 students from the Donetsk People’s Republic, including four Gorlovka residents, study at Yelets University. This number will have been higher already next year,” Prikhodko added.

In addition, the schedule of the DPR delegation’s stay in the Lipetsk region involves visiting enterprises in order to find the points of cooperation, sharing of experience, and cooperation in the field of advanced training of personnel for housing and public utility services.
