Today, on December 10, a roundtable meeting took place in Donetsk to sum up the results and map out future prospects for the development of integration processes between Donbass and Russia, a correspondent of the Official Website of the Donetsk People’s Republic reports.

The meeting was attended by Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Andrey Kozenko and Alexander Petrov, Deputy Chairman of the DPR Government Vladimir Pashkov, Deputy Chairperson of the DPR People’s Council Olga Makeyeva, Deputy Chairman of the LPR People’s Council Oleg Koval, chiefs of various ministries and agencies, public figures.

“Dear friends, I welcome the participants in the round table meeting on the topic of “Results and Prospects for Integration Processes between Donbass and Russia”!

Today we will assess the results of our joint work, trying to be as objective as possible in our judgements, we will also talk about new opportunities and prospects. During the existence of the People’s Republics, during the entire period of their formation, we have gone a very difficult way in the face of wartime challenges. Each year has been covered by numerous events that have become a guarantee of the further development of our state. However, I am sure that everything we have achieved would have been impossible without the support of the brotherly people and the leadership of the Russian Federation. The integration processes with Russia, which gain momentum every day, give our citizens the hope and confidence that we are not alone in our struggle, that we have priceless help and support, for which we will always be grateful.

Today we can be proud of our successes and achievements in our common desire to be closer to Russia. In 2016, the first and most significant event for us was the signing of the Decree by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the recognition of documents issued by the state bodies of the republics. It lists about 17 kinds of documents, without which a person just could not live in modern society. Three years have passed since then. And we have made significant progress. Our citizens can now obtain Russian passports, higher education institutions are successfully accredited in Russia, and the geographical spread of our cooperation with various Russian regions has been expanded. But the most important thing to us is that we can confidently make plans for the future and hope for the implementation of even the most ambitious projects in various spheres of our society. Among them is systematic economic cooperation between the entities of the Russian Federation, establishment of industrial relations, strengthening of twin relations between Russian and Republic cities and districts, as well as development of interaction in the field of inter-parliamentary cooperation,” Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin said.

In the course of their work, the participants listened to reports on the process of providing the residents of Donbass with Russian passports, outlined problematic issues and prospects for improving this procedure. There also were reports on the interaction of the Russian Federation’s entities with the Donbass republics, the need to develop twin relations, the development of economic cooperation between the republics and the Russian Federation, the need to restore industrial ties, etc.

Following the results of the round table meeting, the participants adopted a resolution to that effect.
