Today, on December 12, the DPR Public Chamber held this year’s final meeting in Donetsk, where they summed up the work done between June and December 2019 and decided on the plan of activities for the next year. According to a correspondent of the Official Website of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the most active and industrious members of the Public Chamber were awarded honorary certificates during the meeting.

“For six months of the Public Chamber’s work, it has become a discussion platform, where we consider acute problems and find ways to solve them. Members of the DPR Public Chamber have worked on legislative initiatives, on improving the investment climate in the Republic, studied the problems that people with disabilities face. We also discussed pressing issues related to housing and public utility services and frontline areas.

We have sent the authorities more than 18 appeals on various subjects, all of them have been resolved. Members of the Public Chamber have held more than 350 events, which more than 1.5 thousand people participated in.

One of the important areas of the Public Chamber’s work is the integration with Russia. We have signed 6 agreements on cooperation with the Public Chambers in many regions of Russia, participated in forums and conferences, which gave us the opportunity to learn from the experience of our colleagues.

We plan to arrange for a closer dialogue between the government and citizens of the Republic, enhance our interaction with public institutions of Russia and improve the living standards of our citizens. We need to involve active representatives of civil society and people locally, because without them it is impossible to fundamentally improve life in our Republic,” Chairman of the DPR Public Chamber Alexander Kofman said.

The meeting of the Public Chamber was attended by a public figure, Russian actress Victoria Tarasova.

“I am very grateful for the invitation. I deal with the problems of children, troubled teenagers who have found themselves in a difficult life situation. And I hope that the cooperation with the Public Chamber will bring positive results in this matter,” the actress said.
