Over the past week, there were revealed numerous facts of operation of the Bukovel-AD and R-934B electronic warfare systems belonging to the 305th and 502nd electronic warfare battalions of the AFU. Vice-Commander of the Operational Command Colonel Eduard Basurin reported the details at the briefing in Donetsk on December 13.

“Electronic warfare systems’ activity was detected in the area of Novotroitskoye, Baranovka, Bogdanovka, Stepanovka, Ilyinovka and Chernenko, where OSCE Mission monitors had to terminate the operation of UAVs due to the threat of their loss,” Basurin said.

He also noted that the Republic’s air defense forces jammed control channels of five enemy drones over the past week.

“Yesterday, the Republic’s electronic warfare units, using a Terrikon-M2N complex, suppressed the control channels of the enemy Maverick reconnaissance UAV, as a result of which the UAV ceased reconnaissance and landed near our positions. Today it is presented to your attention. This is the fifth UAV we suppressed over the past week, but the previous ones landed in the grey zone, not reaching our defense lines.

It is important to note that not our electronic warfare systems alone, but also the low level of the enemy forces’ training contribute to the air defense of our Republic. According to our data, yesterday, on December 12, volunteers arrived to the 59th motorized infantry brigade to congratulate Ukrainian militants on the Day of Ground Forces. After holding ceremonial events and handing over gifts as a response gesture, militants of the 59th brigade invited volunteers to try shelling the territory of the Republic by dropping an explosive device from an assault UAV on our positions. However, during the launch and deployment of the UAV to the borders of our Republic, the volunteer lost control of it and dropped the ammunition on the AFU positions, as a result of which one Ukrainian militants suffered shrapnel wounds.

The brigade’s command hastily took the volunteers out of the unit’s responsibility zone and presented the wounded militant as a victim of fire from out side, which never happened,” the Vice-Commander of the Operational Command added.
