Despite all the obstacles that we face at the negotiating platform in Minsk through the fault of Ukraine which keeps sabotaging the peace process, shelling our territory and ignoring the agreements it signed, we are effectively making progress, DPR People’s Council deputy Marina Zheinova stated.

“Our Republic exists for only 5 years, and the war has been ongoing here during this entire period. Contrary to Kiev’s desire to exterminate all the residents of Donbass, we have been able to defend our land and freedom. We have formed all State institutions, adopted the basic laws and continue to work on improving our own legislative base. We are expanding sales markets for our products, and have hosted an unprecedented investment forum, which has become a platform for attracting investment in the economy of the Republic. Effective law enforcement and judiciary systems protect our security. Our children and students receive education, sports and culture are developing. During this time, there have been several increases in wages to public sector employees, and pensions have been increased. And today, despite the ongoing hostilities and the economic blockade by Ukraine, we keep following the plans that were announced this summer. The next major increase is expected to enter into force from January 1.

No one says that there are no problems in the Republic. There are some, they need to be talked about, they have to be solved, and that is what the country’s authorities are engaged in. I am sure that these are only intermediate results, and with a positive agenda and development of the economic sector, we will achieve a higher level of wages and retirement payments compared to the upcoming increase,” Marina Zheinova said.
