Over the past week, military of the DPR People’s Militia units intercepted an AFU’s unmanned aerial vehicle of the Skywalker type, Colonel Eduard Basurin reported at the briefing in Donetsk on January 31.
“This UAV was timely detected by a squad of the Terrikon M2N electronic warfare complex, which is part of the Mantle-ARP Unified System for Comprehensive Protection of Republic’s targets from enemy attacks. The control channel was suppressed and the UAV was successfully landed on our territory through skillful actions of the operators.
It should be noted that the drone was used by criminals of the 10th AFU brigade to adjust artillery and mortar fire on Leninskoye and Sakhanka.
The information obtained from the flash drive is being studied by our specialists and will subsequently be transferred to the DPR Prosecutor General’s Office to be attached to criminal cases brought up against the commander of the 10th Brigade, Zubanich,” Eduard Basurin said.
The Colonel also added that Ukrainian armed formations had continued to actively impede the work of the OSCE SMM observers.
“Last week, we registered the use of radio and electronic suppression stations R-934B and Bukovel-AD by militants of the 502nd and 305th electronic warfare battalions of the AFU, in order to suppress the control channels of OSCE UAVs in Stepanovka, Novgorodskoye, Novotroitskoye, Novognatovka, Krasnogorovka, and Zhelannoye 2. In addition to EW means, last week our monitors recorded an attack on OSCE UAVs with small arms from the positions of the 3rd battalion of the 92nd brigade deployed in Novosyolovka.
All these violations were also recorded by the OSCE SMM monitors,” Eduard Basurin concluded.
