The information warfare tactics conducted by the USA and the global community against Russia was commented on by the DPR People’s Council deputy Valery Skorokhodov in an exclusive interview with a correspondent of the DPR Official Website.
“America initiated attempts to rewrite history back in 1945, after the end of the Great Patriotic War. It was then that active campaigning began and the information war against the Soviet Union was launched. Thus, the United States took an active part in rescuing the Nazis from the punishment for the crimes they had committed and tried to obliterate the feat of the Russian people.
The US policy aims to reformat people’s consciousness and change the citizens’ attitude towards the history of their country. One of the striking examples is Japan, the atomic strikes on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the memories of which the US is actively attempting to erase as a historical fact and condemn to oblivion,” Valery Skorokhodov said.
He also observed that lying, rewriting history, shameless and crude falsification of facts and events are prime examples of information warfare tools.
“Under the influence of false ideas cultivated from generation to generation, young people forget their heroes and no longer know the history of their country. Thus, forcible Ukrainization, interpretation and denial of the crucial events of the heroic past of the Soviet people and distortion of the truth have already led to a distortion of the consciousness of several generations in Ukraine,” the speaker commented.
“The attempts to completely rewrite the results of the Great Victory and the feat of the Soviet people are ongoing as we speak. Moreover, they are carried out more openly and rigidly. Some countries that were established and gained statehood thanks to the Soviet Union now actively support the Russophobic policy pursued against Russia, the goal of which is to hide the truth about its great history,” Valery Skorokhodov added.
In addition, he noted that, despite the political lies and attempts of the West to force the global community to forget the feat of the Soviet people, no one will be able to hide the truth. Donbass is as an example demonstrating that it is impossible to rewrite the history of the Russian people and forget the truth about their victory in the Great Patriotic War.
