Ukrainian occupiers are waging a terrorist war against the civilian population of Donbass.
At 16:00, Ukrainian militants opened accurate fire at the road connecting a DPR checkpoint with Ukraine at the delimitation line near Yelenovka.
The attack was launched from positions of the 28th AFU brigade located in the vicinity of a checkpoint.
According to our intelligence, the shooting was carried out on the brigade commander’s personal orders to provoke return fire from our units to further accuse us of violating the ceasefire and to pass off a gunshot wound of the brigade’s militant as hostilities, although he got it because of the improper unloading of an assault rifle during rotation from positions.
Unfortunately, a civilian born in 1960 fell victim to this attack, he was injured while passing the neutral zone to return from Ukraine through the Novotroitskoye-Yelenovka checkpoint.
We call on the OSCE Mission to document the ceasefire violation by Ukraine, which resulted in the civilian’s wounding, and ensure that those responsible for this terrorist attack are brought to justice.
