Regional coordinator of the movement Oleg Bratukhin spoke about the development of the All-Russian Victory Volunteers Public Movement in the Republic in an exclusive interview with a correspondent of the Official Website of the Donetsk People’s Republic today, on March 12.

According to him, in 2019, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Victory, an international team of volunteers was created so that all compatriots abroad could organize various activities related to the Great Victory, preservation of history, as well as assistance to GPW veterans and fixing up memorial sites.

“We must keep alive the memories of the GPW veterans surviving to this day, spend time with them and invite them to various events at which young people would hear their first-hand experience of the terrible developments of the Great Patriotic War and the heroic feat performed by our compatriots.

As for the perpetuation of memorial sites, we will carry out volunteer clean-up sessions to clean and fix up the territory near monuments and memorials, that is what we can do on our own. In addition to that, many more various events are planned to take place,” Oleg Bratukhin emphasized.

He also noted that the All-Russian Victory Volunteers Public Movement has so far engaged more than 200,000 volunteers from 85 regions of the Russian Federation, and the Donetsk People’s Republic has joined this movement this year.

In conclusion, the Victory Volunteers Movement coordinator invited all interested young people to participate in this initiative and encouraged them not to stand aside.

“We are always happy to welcome new members and invite all active young people to take part in our activities, to become volunteers and co-organizers of the Immortal Regiment campaign. You can contact us via social networks. Besides, we have recently launched our Telegram channel.”

As will be recalled, the Victory Volunteers Movement is a personal story of everyone whose memories of the contribution of their family and friends to the Great Victory cause are more than just memories. Members of the movement are proud of the past, value the present, and look to the future.
