In accordance with Order 57 of Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin as of March 14, 2020, a high alert regime has been announced in the DPR due to the danger of possible spread of the new coronavirus infection in the Republic.

Starting March 21, 2020, civilian traffic across border and customs checkpoints of the Donetsk People’s Republic has been suspended due to the escalating epidemiological situation in Ukraine and probable increase in COVID-19 cases there.

All necessary measures have been taken at customs checkpoints of the Donetsk People’s Republic to ensure that those who have returned to the Donetsk People’s Republic undergo a medical supervision.

The Emergency Situations Ministry’s Republic Rescue Center carries out a special treatment of motor transport coming from Ukraine to prevent the importation of the coronavirus infection into the Donetsk People’s Republic. For this purpose, there is a special treatment station deployed, where specialists from the radiation, chemical and biological protection squad of the Ministry of Emergency Situations apply disinfectant solution on vehicles inside and outside. After the disinfection, the vehicles are safe and can be used as intended.

After that, passengers of the vehicles undergo a two-week isolation period at a special medical facility in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
