This weekend, the AFU shelled the Republic’s territory, having cut eight localities off power, repair teams of the Regional Energy Supply Company Republic Enterprise returned power supply to six of them, as for other two villages, they are waiting for security guarantees from the Ukrainian side, the press service of the Ministry of Coal Energy reports.

“On April 4 at 17:55, the 110kV Zavodskaya — 4/5 № 2 power line with a branch line to Bairak, Uzlovaya and Dolomitnoye was damaged in Gorlovka by shell fragments of the armed formations of Ukraine, the 110kV Dolomit substation, which supplies 18 electrical substations, was down. 3082 consumers, four boiler houses, kindergarten and a school in Golmovsky were left without electricity. Due to the ongoing shelling, it was impossible to carry out repairs, electricians returned power supply via a fallback circuit to all the consumers who had been left without electricity on the morning of April 5.

On Sunday, the AFU switched over to the south of the Republic. On April 5 at 7:54, the villages Sosnovka and Naberezhneye came under heavy fire, wires in two spans of the 10kV power line were broken and multiple damage was caused to 0.4kV low voltage lines in Sosnovka itself. Both villages were cut off power,” the report reads.

The Ministry of Coal Energy also added that five more villages of the Novoazovsky district had been left without electricity yesterday at 13:30: Kominternovo, Zaichenko, Leninskoye, Dzerzhinskoye and Novaya Tavriya. Shell fragments cut the Sahanka — Dzerzhinskoye 10kV power line, 12 electrical substations, a school and 456 consumers were left without electricity. Emergency brigades from the Regional Energy Supply Company Republic Enterprise fixed the Sahanka — Dzerzhinskoye line, having returned power to the residents. Unfortunately, as for Sosnovka and Naberezhnoye, the approval from the Ukrainian side is still required.

“The damaged sections of the Yuzhnaya — Ukrainskoye line, which supplies Sosnovka and Naberezhnoye, are directly in visual range of AFU positions. Therefore, it is impossible to carry out repairs without endangering the lives of electricians. We have already sent a request to the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Ceasefire and the OSCE Mission, demanding ceasefire and security guarantees for the duration of repair works. Unfortunately, the Ukrainian side has not yet provided a response,” chief of the Regional Energy Supply Company Republic Enterprise’s tactical response team REC Pyotr Chaschin informed.

The repair works will be carried out as soon as they are approved.
