Exactly six years ago, April 7, 2014, marked a historic event, the Declaration of Sovereignty of the Donetsk People’s Republic was adopted, which laid the foundation of our state, reads Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin’s address, which is published on his Telegram channel.
“After that, there was a referendum, where the majority of Donbass citizens expressed their will and confirmed the fateful decision.
In Spring 2014, we made the right choice, it was the first and necessary step in the process of restoring historical justice. Donbass has always been a Russian region, and its present and future reside in unity with Russia.
Neither war nor other trials can dissuade us from achieving our primary goal. We will keep following the chosen path.
Our Republic stood up, it will live and move forward. I wish you peace and prosperity! Happy holiday, dear countrymen!” the address reads.
