Today, on April 16, Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin instructed that benefit-entitled schoolchildren studying in the remote mode who have the right to free meals must be provided with food baskets. According to a correspondent of the DPR Official Website, the head of state gave this instruction during the working meeting on the sanitary and epidemiological situation, which was held via videoconference.

“Given that education establishments of the Republic work in the remote mode for the duration of the high readiness regime in the Donetsk People’s Republic, I believe it is necessary to provide schoolchildren who have the right to free meals with food baskets. This is especially true for children in foster care and children from large families. We understand what challenges our citizens have faced because of the restrictive and isolation measures, and we must do our best to help them,” Denis Pushilin said.

In this regard, the Head of the DPR instructed:

— the DPR Ministry of Education and Science to determine schoolchildren-beneficiaries who will be provided with food, in compliance with the DPR legislation, and to approve the range of food products of such food package by April 17, 2020;

— the DPR Ministry of Finance, within the limits of the budgetary provisions, to ensure the defrayment of purchase of food packages by April 23, 2020;

— The administrations of cities, towns and districts of the DPR to ensure the delivery of food packages to the parents or lawful guardians of benefit-entitled children studying in the remote mode by April 27, 2020.

The DPR Ministry of Education and Science is responsible for supervising the process of providing benefit-entitled schoolchildren with food packages.
