Last week, President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed two important laws aimed at simplifying the procedure for acquiring Russian citizenship. The first of them exempts the residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics from paying the state fee when obtaining a Russian passport. The second law simplifies the procedure of citizenship acquisition for foreign relatives of Russian citizens and a number of other classes of persons. Chief of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement’s Central Executive Committee Alexey Muratov commented on this event.

“This decree has significantly expanded the categories whom the acquisition of Russian citizenship under the simplified procedure applies to. Those who found themselves torn from their Homeland because of its collapse due to the criminal conspiracy of Western puppets, those who do not want to put up with the boundaries that became an obstacle to family and friendly relations, and those who cherish the dream of restoring the unity and power of the Fatherland can now make one more step closer towards the embodiment of their hopes.

This decision clearly demonstrates the expansion and intensification of integration processes with the Russian Federation and its constant support to the residents of the Donbass Republics and all Russians living abroad. Russia never leaves its people behind!

What Donbass believes is rather deeds than words, and the Russian Federation proves by its actions that our historical and civilizational choice is right. Our choice is Russia!” emphasized Muratov.
