Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin paid homage to Hero of the DPR Oleg Mamiyev and laid flowers at his bust in the Heroes Alley in Lenin Komsomol Amusement Park.
Oleg Mamiyev (nom-de-guerre Mamai) was a lieutenant colonel, commander of the Pyatnashka International Brigade. He was killed on May 17, 2018, in the industrial zone near Avdeyevka, one of the most dangerous frontline areas. He was one of the first volunteers who backed the residents of Donbass in the fight against Kiev’s arbitrary rule in May 2014. He is buried in his homeland, North Ossetia, at the Heroes Alley in Vladikavkaz.
The bust to the legendary commander was put up in Donetsk on May 21, 2019.
