During the meeting of the Contact Group, Ukrainian representatives unexpectedly claimed that they had never undertaken any obligations on dropping the charges against the persons released earlier through the exchange process, the DPR MFA reports.

“Ambassador Frisch, the coordinator, noticed such a regression in the Ukrainian negotiators’ stand. He reminded that those agreements had been in force since 2017 and called on Kiev to get on with its obligations,” reads the statement.

Also, the Ukrainian negotiators at the working group refused to consider a humanitarian corridor for citizens who desperately need to get to adjacent territories through checkpoints, which are now closed due to the coronavirus situation.

For unclear reasons, the representatives of Ukraine tried to attribute this issue to security matters. However, all the members of the Contact Group called on Ukraine to express their stand nonetheless, so the necessary humanitarian procedure may be carried out.
