Countries throughout the world joined the commemorative event called Angels on June 1, reports the DPR Foreign Affairs Ministry.

“The event, which was initiated by the Young Republic Public Organization and timed to coincide with the International Children’s Day, has already become traditional. The fourth year in a row we have launched lanterns and balloons into the sky in the memory of innocent children who died in Donbass. Like-minded people throughout the world annually take part in this event, sympathizing with the residents of the Republics,” the statement says.

Thus, 13 cities joined the event this year: Paris and Reims (France), Berlin (Germany), Rome, Verona, Turin, Messina (Italy), Athens (Greece), Novi Sad (Serbia), Riga (Latvia), Dendermonde (Belgium), Bratislava (Slovakia), Nashville (US).

“We especially appreciate that foreign friends of the DPR supported the Angels event this year too, despite the difficulties related to the epidemiological situation. We are grateful to all residents of the Republic, to all our fellow-thinkers, including representatives of foreign countries, for carefully preserving the memory of the youngest victims of the conflict. Together we will make every effort to ensure that the perpetrators of crimes committed against the people of Donbass will be punished to the fullest extent of the law,” the DPR MFA emphasized.
