Citizens can cross the border only in case of urgent need and by decision of the Inter-Agency Operational Headquarters for the Prevention of Importation and Proliferation of the New Coronavirus Infection, press officer of the DPR Ministry of State Security Mikhail Popov stated on June 10 during the briefing in Donetsk.
“In connection with the statement from the Ukrainian side on the unilateral opening of checkpoints at the line of contact between the Donetsk People’s Republic and Ukraine, the Ministry of State Security of the Donetsk People’s Republic warns that the current procedure of border crossing remains in force, checkpoints are currently closed. Citizens can cross the border only in case of urgent need and by decision of the Inter-Agency Operational Headquarters for the Prevention of Importation and Proliferation of the New Coronavirus Infection,” he said.
According to Mikhail Popov, this procedure of border crossing will remain in force until a special order from the Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic. It will be issued after all special services and agencies complete all preparatory activities.
“This decision has been made due to the difficult humanitarian and epidemiological situation in Ukraine, including in the territory of Donbass temporarily controlled by Kiev,” the DPR MGB press officer stressed.
