On Monday of June 15, Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin held a meeting on advanced coal-processing. The event was attended by Coal and Energy Minister Ruslan Dubovsky, Minister of Education and Science Mikhail Kushakov and rectors of relevant universities, the press service of the Head’s Administration reports.

“Our most important task is to improve our coal industry, but this idea would be unfeasible without modern technologies. We will not do without science. The cost of advanced processing products is next-higher order if we analyze it now. Obviously, the future lies in coal chemistry.

Time is our essential factor. We need solutions as soon as possible. I would like to hear the position of specialists on the improvement and prospects of coal chemistry in our realities,” Denis Pushilin addressed to the audience.

Deputy Minister of Education and Science Viktor Varyukhin noted that the scientific community of the Republic had been discussing the topic of advanced coal processing for six years.

“We need to modernize this industry now to continue its work. We will outline our vision based on our groundwork and analysis of what is being done, first of all, in the Russian Federation,” Viktor Varyukhin.

The Head of State was acquainted with a number of projects on advanced coal processing during the meeting. Particularly, they proposed introducing vibration-pneumatic methods of coal upgrading (anhydrous method) and increase the depth of upgrading of fine-grained types of coal by hydrous method.

“Note that the introduction of advanced processing technologies is a task of state importance at the moment. It is necessary to attract and use all resources,” Denis Pushilin stressed.

In turn, Ruslan Dubovsky noted that the main goal of the Ministry of Coal and Energy is to ramp up production and increase the number of outlets, and this task can be solved by upgrading the process of coal processing.

The Minister noted that joint work with scientists is extremely relevant. Specialists of the mining industry in cooperation with science work on specific tasks facing collieries.

The DPR Head instructed that the development of a program for advanced processing of coal be accelerated and completed in a very short time, because, according to him, it can become one of the effective ways to solve economic problems in the country.

“Draw up a road map, work it out in due time. More ambitious projects should also be studied. This may be a way to improve our region,” Denis Pushilin summed up.
