The passage of citizens wishing to leave for the territory of Ukraine through the Yelenovka checkpoint began today, on June 22, DPR Minister of Foreign Affairs Natalya Nikonorova issued a statement in this regard.
“We welcome the fact that the Ukrainian authorities did not act as usual, yet made a humane decision to let pass people from the Novotroitskoye checkpoint.
We thank all international organizations that influenced the representatives of Kiev for the help and assistance in this matter. We hope that the next stage of resuming the work of the Yelenovka checkpoint—admission of those wishing to enter the territory of the Republic according to the lists of the Inter-Agency Headquarters— will also begin without set-ups from the Ukrainian side,” Natalya Nikonorova said.
