Members of the Contact Group’s economic subgroup reviewed the main items on the agenda, they focused on the problems in the work of Voda Donbassa Public Utilities Company, Ukraine’s arrears in social welfare and wages, the DPR Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.

DPR Plenipotentiary Representative to the Contact Group and Minister of Foreign Affairs Natalya Nikonorova expressed regret that Ukraine has not suggested so far any specifics or even supposed dates when the total amount of arrears owed to Donetsk Railways employees will be drawn up.

“In this context, we have warned the representatives of Kiev that unilateral actions in this process will not lead to transparency in settling arrears owed to the employees. Moreover, the number of those employees that Ukrainian delegates announced is critically low in comparison with our information, according to which Ukraine owes to 24 thousand employees.

Therefore, first we need to conclude an agreement and do all necessary archival work to say then that the Ukrainian side really starts to fulfill its social obligations to people,” Natalya Nikonorova stated.

She also focused on the need to keep looking for ways to resolve the issue of arrears of electricity of the Ukrainian communications provider Vodafone.
