The armed forces of Ukraine continue targeting residential areas and infrastructure of our Republic, spokesman for the DPR PMD Dmitry Astrakhan stated on July 3.

Militants from the 137th battalion of the 35th brigade shelled the village of Gagarin Mine with 120mm and 82mm mortars, having fired 39 shells. The shelling resulted in eight holes in the central water main “Gorlovka-Dzerzhinsk”, which provides drinking water to residents on both sides of the line of contact.

Thanks to the professional actions of our defenders, the enemy’s fire activity was repelled in time. As the result of the adequate response, an enemy firing-point is destroyed and three militants are wounded. In addition to the losses among the personnel, the defenders of the Republic inflicted material damage on the enemy, the air defense unit destroyed a Mavic drone that the enemy was trying to adjust fire with.

“We remind that the enemy has proceeded with an active phase of terror of the civilian population, given their failures at the line of contact. For the second day in a row Ukrainian militants are trying to trigger a humanitarian disaster. As we reported earlier, on July 2 at 18.00, militants of the 54th brigade opened fire on the premises of the Vasilyevka first-stage pumping station of the Yuzhnodonbassky conduit. The personnel were forced to hide in the shelter, none of the station’s employees were hurt.

We remind the command of Ukrainian militants that no crime against our Homeland shall go unpunished, and the exertions of the war criminals shall be firmly curbed by our defenders.

We recommend that the commander of the occupying forces pay attention to the criminal actions of his subordinates, because of which the civilians of Donbass suffer,” Dmitry Astrakhan said.
