The Republic seeks to enhance integration processes with the Russian Federation, there are no chances of returning to Ukraine, Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin stated on July 3.

“The residents of Donbass are not considering the possibility of reunification with Kiev. We reject the Russophobic and neo-Nazi ideology of Ukraine, we have different morals, traditions and historical values. The future of Donbass belongs with Russia.

Ukraine openly demonstrates that it is not going to take constructive steps towards peaceful settlement of the conflict. Such position is a convenient way for the Kiev authorities. By waging hostilities, which, by the way, were unleashed by the very Ukrainian leadership, they are hiding their political failures and disguising their own inefficiency,” Denis Pushilin noted.

According to him, the hostilities in Donbass help Ukraine get support from Western countries.

“Ukraine is now in debt and on the verge of national bankruptcy, the war helps it stay afloat. If the conflict is over, there will be no more support from Western partners. It means losing the main source of financing: loans from international organizations.

In addition, ending the war means for Ukraine admitting its defeat and wrong. Since 2014, Kiev has been centering its information policy around the main theses: “Donbass is occupied by Russia, all the troubles have been brought by Russia”,” the Head of the DPR said.

Denis Pushilin stressed that the Ukrainian authorities fear the ideological dissension of the DPR residents.

“A new community of people with Russian mindset has formed here in the course of the years, in the event that the former borders are restored, the remnants of the Ukrainian statehood will decay from within. This is what Kiev is most afraid of,” the Head of the DPR concluded.
