Helping large families is an absolute priority of state concern in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Minister of Labor and Social Policy Larisa Tolstykina says.
The Minister noted there are families in the Republic that bring up five to eleven children.
“For our part, we do our utmost to create more comfortable conditions for such families, give them material and moral help. The amount of social benefits of families having children and of large families has been increased many times in the Republic. Today, more than 7.5 thousand multi-child families enjoy the privilege of paying for public utilities at a discount,” Larisa Tolstykina said.
The minister recalled that the Day of Love, Family and Faithfulness was declared in the DPR in order to form respectful attitude towards the institution of marriage, to preserve and strengthen family values, love and mutual understanding at the state level.
“In 2017, at the proposal of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and the State Agency for Family and Children, a state decoration—Badge For the Merits in the Up-Bringing of Children—was declared to encourage citizens for their merits and significant contribution to the strengthening of the family institution. In 2018 and 2019, ten families having five or more children have already been awarded this state decoration.
This year, five families have also been chosen and awarded the decoration. These are families from Donetsk, Makeyevka and the Starobeshevsky district. They are an exemplar of love and mutual respect, they bring up talented children who understand well the meaning of the words “support”, “friendship” and “harmony”,” Larisa Tolstykina stressed.
