The Republic has decided to abolish the requirement to the OSCE Mission’s staff to undergo quarantine upon entry into the DPR, but on the stipulation that the entrants submit a negative test result for coronavirus, DPR Minister of Foreign Affairs Natalya Nikonorova stated on July 9.

“During the meeting of the Contact Group on June 25, the Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, Ambassador Yaşar Halit Çevik, asked us to consider the abolition of the quarantine requirement when crossing the line of contact, although agreeing that the staff of the Mission need to carry the test results.

We have considered this request. In connection with the relaxation of the advanced readiness regime in the Republic and given that we fully support the OSCE SMM in carrying out its responsibilities for registering ceasefire violations and the consequences of Ukrainian attacks, we have decided to simplify the procedure of crossing the territory of the Republic for the Mission’s personnel. In particular, it has been decided to abolish the requirement for such personnel to undergo quarantine upon entry into the Republic, but on condition that the entrants will submit a negative test for coronavirus and have a second test in 14 days.

In the near future, this decision and all necessary clarifications will be officially communicated to the representatives of the OSCE SMM,” Natalya Nikonorova stated.
