Возле монумента «Твоим освободителям, Донбасс!» 9 Мая состоялся торжественный митинг, посвященный 73-й годовщине Победы советского народа в Великой Отечественной войне 1941-1945 годов. Как сообщает корреспондент официального сайта ДНР, в нем приняли участие тысячи дончан, среди которых были участники Всемирной общественной акции «Бессмертный полк», ветераны Великой Отечественной войны, военнослужащие ВС ДНР, школьники.

В начале митинга все присутствующие почтили минутой молчания всех погибших защитников Отечества.

«Преемственность поколений всегда была и будет! Вы смогли одержать Победу в одной из самых тяжелых войн в мировой истории. Мы, ваши потомки, с честью отстоим вашу Победу. Победа будет за нами! Враг будет разбит!», — поблагодарил ветеранов министр обороны ДНР генерал-лейтенант Владимир Кононов.

И.о. главы администрации Донецка Алексей Кулемзин подчеркнул, что подвиг наших ветеранов будет примером для молодых поколений еще на многие века. «Давайте сегодня поздравим всех ветеранов всего Советского Союза — солдат, матросов, мичманов, участников партизанского движения. Поздравим тех ваших боевых товарищей, находящихся на временно неподконтрольной территории, которым сегодня запрещают носить Георгиевские ленточки и боевые советские ордена. Желаю ветеранам крепкого здоровья и всех благ. Хочу вас заверить, что Город-герой Донецк знает, помнит, чтит своих героев!», — сказал он.

Студент инженерно-экономического факультета ДонНТУ Данил Михайлюк заявил, что 9 Мая — святой для каждого гражданина Республики день. «Вы для нас остаетесь поколением победителей! Мы учимся у вас жить и побеждать во имя Родины, работать так, чтобы наши дела были достойны ваших великих свершений, чтобы наше государство было сильным и процветающим», — сказал он.

После песни «День Победы» участники митинга под ружейный салют возложили живые цветы к монументу «Твоим освободителям, Донбасс!» и памятнику воинам-афганцам.

At the beginning of the rally, everyone present observed a minute of silence in tribute to the memory of all the fallen defenders of the Fatherland.

“Continuity of generations has always been and will be! You managed to get the Victory in one of the most difficult wars in world history. We, your descendants, will defend your Victory honorably. Victory will be ours! The enemy will be defeated!” Minister of Defense of the DPR, General Lieutenant Vladimir Kononov thanked the veterans.

Acting head of the Donetsk administration Aleksey Kulemzin stressed that the heroism of our veterans would be an example to young generations for many centuries. “Let’s congratulate today all the veterans of the entire Soviet Union — soldiers, sailors, midshipmen, participants in the partisan movement. Congratulations to those your fellow soldiers who are temporarily in the uncontrolled territory, who are now forbidden to wear St. George ribbons and Soviet military orders. I wish the veterans good health and all the best. I want to assure you that Donetsk, the Hero City, knows, remembers, honors its heroes!” he said.

Student of the Engineering and Economics Faculty of DonNTU Danil Mikhailyuk said that May 9th is a sacred day for every citizen of the Republic. “You are a generation of winners for us! We learn from you to live and win for the sake of the Motherland, to work so that our deeds are worthy of your great achievements, so that our state would be strong and prosperous,” he said.

After the Victory Day song, the participants of the rally, to the celebratory gunfire, laid flowers at the monument “To Your liberators, Donbass!” and the monument to Afghan war veterans.
