Более тысячи лет отделяют нас от знаменательного события – Крещения Руси. Православная вера объединила разрозненные племена на огромной территории, заложила первый краеугольный камень в крепкий фундамент русской государственности.
В те незапамятные времена Киев был назван матерью городов русских. Сейчас преступные украинские политики, изменившие собственной вере и собственному народу, делают все, чтобы город князя Владимира Крестителя из матери превратился для нас в злую мачеху.
Глубоко убежден, что усилиями православной церкви можно прекратить междоусобную вражду, смирить гнев и призвать отступников к покаянию, чтобы на израненной украинской земле вновь восторжествовало милосердие.
В дни самых суровых испытаний святая апостольская русская православная церковь как заботливая мать защищала своих детей. Сегодня, когда на землю нашего родного Донбасса обрушилась война, православная церковь разделила с нами непростую судьбу.
В день 1030-летия крещения Руси хочу пожелать всем мира и добра, стойкости к невзгодам и крепкого здоровья.

Over a thousand years separate us from the landmark event, the Christianization of Rus. The Orthodox faith united disparate tribes in a vast territory, laid the first cornerstone in the solid foundation of the Russian statehood.
Since time immemorial, Kiev has been called the mother of Russian cities. Now the criminal Ukrainian politicians who have betrayed their own faith and their own people are making every effort to turn the city of Prince Vladimir from our mother into an evil stepmother for us.
I am deeply convinced that through the efforts of the Orthodox Church, it is possible to stop the internecine enmity, to subdue anger and to call on the apostates to repent, so that mercy once again reigns in the wounded Ukrainian land.
In the days of the most severe trials, the holy apostolic Russian Orthodox Church as a caring mother defended her children. Today, when war broke out in the land of our native Donbass, the Orthodox Church has shared a challenging fate with us.
On the day of the 1030th anniversary of the Christianization of Rus, I want to wish everyone peace and good, resilience to adversity and good health.
