Международные наблюдатели, отслеживающие ход проводимых 11 ноября в Донецкой Народной Республике выборов Главы Республики и депутатов Народного Совета, приехали в ДНР за собственные средства. Об этом они сообщили 11 ноября в ходе пресс-конференции в Донецке, отвечая на вопрос журналистов.

«Я приехал сюда по собственному желанию и за свой счет. Считаю своей обязанностью участвовать в мероприятиях, которые проходят в ДНР и ЛНР. Особенно если это связано с процессом, который бывает один раз в 4 года, и по трагическому поводу — в связи с гибелью Александра Захарченко», — заявил наблюдатель из Российской Федерации, член Совета Федерации Сергей Цеков.

Своего коллегу поддержала также наблюдатель из России, член комитета Совета Федерации по обороне и безопасности Ольга Ковитиди. «Я — профессиональный юрист, и я уверена, что обязанность всех государств — уважать равноправие. Оно должна быть повсеместно. Устав Организации Объединенных Наций сегодня подразумевает наличие демократии так таковой. Более того, Всеобщая декларация прав человека (статья 2) распространяется и на граждан Донецкой Народной Республики. Конвенция о защите прав человека и его основных свобод, на которую часто ссылаются сегодня в ОБСЕ и ООН, тоже распространяется на жителей Донбасса. Международный пакт о гражданских и политических правах (статья 25) — тоже распространяется на жителей ДНР. Именно поэтому мы сегодня, юристы, не можем оставаться в стороне от нарушений законных прав и интересов граждан. Донецкая Народная Республика, в соответствии с законодательством и Минскими соглашениями, ждала от Украины шагов навстречу, но они не последовали. Именно сегодня, в соответствии с Минскими соглашениями, Донецкая Народная Республика осуществляет выборы. Это новый политический этап в жизни большого количества людей, которые имеют право быть избранными, которые имеют право на мир и свое дальнейшее будущее», — заявила она.

Международный наблюдатель из Греции, бывший министр обороны и член парламента этой европейской страны Костас Исихос сказал, что все они придерживаются правил международных наблюдателей — он приехал в Донецк за свой счет. «И мы действуем согласно всем стандартам. Международные наблюдатели неподкупны», — сказал он в ходе пресс-конференции в Донецке.

International observers, who monitor the course of the elections of the Head of the Republic and People’s Councildeputies,which are being held on November 11thin the Donetsk People’s Republic,arrived in the DPR at their own expense. It should be everywhere. The Charter of the United Nations today implies the existence of democracy as such. Moreover, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Article 2) applies to citizens of the Donetsk People’s Republic too. The Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Its Fundamental Freedoms, which the OSCE and the UNtodayoften refer to, also applies to residents of Donbass. The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (Article 25) also applies to DPR residents. That is why, we,the lawyers, today cannot stay away from the violations of the legal rights and interests of citizens in Ukraine. The Donetsk People’s Republic, in accordance with law and the Minsk Agreements, waited for conciliatory gestures from Ukraine, but they did not come. Today, in accordance with the Minsk Agreements, the Donetsk People’s Republic is implementingthe elections. This is a new political stage in the life of a large number of people who have the right to be elected, who have the right to peace and their future,”she declared.

International observer from Greece, ex-Minister for Defense and member of the parliament of this European country Kostas Isihos said that they all followed the rules of international observers and he had arrived in Donetsk at his own expense. “And we act according to all the standards. International observers are not bought and paid for. I want to emphasize that the Western media watched a lot of Hollywood films featuring James Bond and Russian spies,”he said during the press conference in Donetsk.
