В ходе брифинга 5 апреля заместитель командующего Оперативным командованием, полковник Эдуард Басурин подчеркнул, что украинские военные преступники ставят своей целью осуществлять геноцид не только населения ДНР, но и населения, проживающего на территории Украины.
«Примером тому могут послужить регулярные обстрелы Донецкой фильтровальной станции и Васильевской водонасосной станции первого подъема Южно-Донбасского водовода с целью их уничтожения и вызова экологической и гуманитарной катастрофы в регионе. Но так как повреждения станций устраняются и они продолжают работать, по приказу командующего карательной операцией Наева были остановлены три водонасосные станции в районах Семеновки, Волновахи и Мариуполя, то есть на своей временно оккупированной территории. В результате такого недальновидного решения около двух миллионов человек остались без воды. Осознавая последствия содеянного и под нажимом общественности станции возобновили работу. Но зная о недальновидности поступков украинского военного командования, не исключаем подобного рода «водяные» провокации и в дальнейшем.
На примере остановки трех водонасосных станций можно ярко характеризовать мстительность действующего президента Украины, который решил оставить население Донбасса без воды из-за ничтожно малого количества поддержавших его голосов в ходе выборов и крайне низкого его рейтинга на юго-востоке страны. Он направил послание жителям Донбасса, что в случае повторного проигрыша 21 апреля его угрозы по отключению воды в Донецкой области могут повториться, и на долгий срок», — сказал Эдуард Басурин.

“An example of this is the regular shelling of the Donetsk Filter Station and the Vasilyevka first-stage water pumping plant of the Yuzhnodonbassky water duct in order to destroy them and cause an environmental and humanitarian catastrophe in the region. But since the damage to the stations is eliminated, and they continue to operate, by order of commander of the counterinsurgency operation Nayev, three water pumping plants in the areas of Semenovka, Volnovakha and Mariupol were shut down, that is, in their temporarily occupied territory. As a result of this short-sighted decision, about two million people were left without water. Aware of the consequences of the offense, and under pressure from the public, the stations resumed work. But, knowing the short-sightedness of the actions of the Ukrainian military command, we do not rule this kind of “water” provocations in the future.
By example of stopping three water pumping stations, one can vividly characterize the revengefulness of the current president of Ukraine, who decided to leave Donbass population without water because of the negligible number of votes that supported him during the election and his extremely low rating in the south-east of the country. Thus, he sent a message to the residents of Donbass that in case of another loss on April 21st, his threats to turn off the water in the Donetsk region may be repeated, and for a long time,” Eduard Basurin said.
