Сегодня, 22 апреля, в Донецке Глава ДНР Денис Пушилин встретился с матерью погибшего в Донбассе Андрея Стенина, впервые приехавшей в Донецк. Об этом сообщает РИА Новости.
Денис Пушилин принял Веру Стенину в своей администрации, она подарила ему фотоальбом своего сына, изданный МИА «Россия сегодня».
Накануне Вера Стенина впервые посетила место гибели сына в окрестностях города Снежное. Она посадила две березы около небольшого мемориала, посвященного Стенину и погибшим вместе с ним военкорам ополчения Андрею Вячало и Сергею Коренченкову. За мемориалом ухаживают местные жители, всего на аллее 14 берез, их саженцы привезены из Смоленска.
Также Стенина привезла на место гибели сына камень с его родины, посетила школу в селе Горняцкое, которая носит имя Андрея Стенина. Здесь она пообщалась с учениками и учителями, осмотрела музей, посвященный памяти погибших мирных жителей и журналистов.
Вера Стенина и Денис Пушилин обсудили вопросы по увековечению памяти погибших журналистов, поддержки школы, а также помощи журналистам, ставшим инвалидами, в том числе оператору телеканала «Звезда» Андрею Луневу.
Специальный корреспондент МИА «Россия сегодня» Андрей Стенин (1980-2014) погиб более четырех лет назад в районе Донецка. Автомобиль, на котором он ехал на редакционное задание, 6 августа 2014 года был расстрелян и сожжен на шоссе. За мужество и героизм, проявленные при исполнении профессионального долга, Андрей Стенин указом президента РФ был посмертно награжден орденом Мужества (2014). В декабре 2014 года на здании МИА «Россия сегодня» по адресу Зубовский бульвар, 4 была открыта мемориальная доска в честь Андрея Стенина.

Ms. Stenina also brought a stone to the place of her son’s death from his homeland, visited the school that is named after Andrey Stenin in the village of Gornyatskoye. There she talked with pupils and teachers, visited a museum dedicated to the memory of the dead civilians and journalists.
Vera Stenina and Denis Pushilin discussed the work to perpetuate the memory of the deceased journalists, support for the school, as well as assistance to journalists who have become handicapped, including cameraman of Zvezda TV channel Andrey Lunev.
