Более пятидесяти ветеранов войны в Афганистане были отмечены государственной наградой – медалью «За верность долгу и службу Родине». Заслуженные отличия воинам-интернационалистам вручил Глава Донецкой Народной Республики Денис Пушилин. Как сообщает корреспондент официального сайта ДНР, церемония награждения прошла в музее Великой Отечественной войны мемориального комплекса «Твоим освободителям, Донбасс!» в Донецке.

«Тридцать лет прошло с того момента, когда Советская Армия покинула пределы Республики Афганистан. Это была тяжелая война, и сейчас западная пропаганда всячески пытается ее оболгать. Донбасс в свое время отправил туда тысячи своих сынов, чтобы выполнить интернациональный долг. И я абсолютно уверен, что свой воинский долг вы выполнили с честью.

Эта награда — не только дань памяти героизму, проявленному в той войне. Она очень тесно переплетается с событиями, которые происходят сегодня. У нас тоже идет война, и одними из первых, кто встал на защиту своей земли, были воины-интернационалисты, которые прошли через горнило афганской войны. И народ Донбасса вам за это благодарен.

Сегодня награждаются военные, спасатели, сотрудники правоохранительных органов. Нам есть на кого равняться, и уверен, что эта награда — лишь малая толика того, что государство должно делать, чтобы люди помнили о героях Афганистана и других конфликтов, о героях Великой Отечественной войны», — сказал Денис Пушилин.

Государственная награда, медаль «За верность долгу и службу Родине», была установлена Указом Главы ДНР № 52 от 15 февраля 2019 года в честь 30-й годовщины со дня вывода советских войск из Афганистана. В числе первых награжденных ею ветеранов-афганцев – военнослужащие Народной милиции ДНР, спасатели МЧС, сотрудники правоохранительных органов, государственной безопасности и другие, которые продолжают нести службу по защите интересов Донецкой Народной Республики.

More than fifty veterans of the war in Afghanistan were presented with a state award – the medal “For loyalty to the duty and service to the Motherland”. Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin presented the deserved decorations to the warriors-internationalists. According to a correspondent of the official website of the DPR, the award ceremony took place in the Museum of the Great Patriotic War of the memorial complex “To your liberators, Donbass!” in Donetsk.

“Thirty years have passed since the Soviet Army left the borders of the Republic of Afghanistan. That was a hard war, and now Western propaganda is trying in every way to slander it. Donbass once sent thousands of his sons there in order to fulfill the international duty. And I am absolutely sure that you have fulfilled your military duty with honor.

This award is not only a tribute to the memory of the heroism shown in that war. It is very closely intertwined with the events that are going on today. We, too, are at war, and among the first who came to defend their land were the internationalist warriors who went through the furnace of the Afghan war. And the people of Donbass is grateful to you for this.

Today the military, rescuers, law enforcement officers are awarded. We have someone to look up to, and I am sure that this award is only a small amount of what the state should do so that people remember the heroes of Afghanistan and other conflicts, the heroes of the Great Patriotic War,” Denis Pushilin said.

The state award, the medal “For loyalty to the duty and service to the Motherland”, was established by the Decree 52 of the Head of the DPR dated February 15th, 2019 in honor of the 30th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan. Among the first Afghan veterans awarded with it are the military of the People’s Militia of the DPR, rescuers of the Emergencies Ministry, law enforcers, state security officers and others who continue to serve for the defense of interests of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
