Как сообщает МИД ДНР, очередная встреча Контактной группы в Минске должна была состояться в начале месяца, но по просьбе украинской стороны встреча была перенесена на 22 мая. Однако и в этот раз украинская делегация уклонилась от своих обязательств, отказавшись прибыть в Минск на переговоры, мотивируя отсутствием полномочий, вынудив тем самым приостановить работу единственной площадки для прямых переговоров сторон конфликта и перенести очередное заседание Контактной группы и ее рабочих групп на следующую запланированную дату – 5 июня.
«В результате смены президента Украины и его команды под угрозой срыва оказался важнейший диалог по мирному урегулированию вооруженного конфликта в Донбассе.
Для возобновления полноценного переговорного процесса новое руководство Украины должно сделать конкретный шаг по урегулированию ситуации дипломатическим путем и до следующего заседания назначить полномочных представителей в Контактной и ее рабочих группах, задачей которых будет конструктивный диалог с Республиками и последовательное выполнение подписанных Минских договоренностей.
Надеемся, что благодаря этому 5 июня ОБСЕ удастся организовать содержательное заседание Контактной группы, которое выведет из застоя переговорный процесс по урегулированию вооруженного конфликта между Киевом и Донбассом», — заявили во внешнеполитическом ведомстве.
According to the DPR Ministry of Foreign Affairs, another meeting of the Contact Group in Minsk was to be held earlier this month, but at the request of the Ukrainian side, the meeting was postponed to May 22nd. However, this time the Ukrainian delegation avoided their obligations by refusing to arrive in Minsk to attend the talks, citing the lack of authority, which thereby led to the suspension of the only venue for direct negotiations of the parties to the conflict and postponement of the next meeting of the Contact Group and its working groups to another date, June 5th.
“As a result of the change of the president of Ukraine and his team, the most important dialogue on the peaceful settlement of the armed conflict in Donbass has been at risk of failure.
To resume a fully-fledged negotiation process, the new leadership of Ukraine should take a concrete step to resolve the situation through diplomacy and, before the next meeting, appoint plenipotentiaries to the Contact Group and its working groups, whose task is to be a constructive dialogue with the Republics and consistent implementation of the signed Minsk agreements.
We hope that thanks to this, on June 5th, the OSCE will manage to arrange for a meaningful meeting of the Contact Group, which should get the negotiation process out of standstill to resolve the armed conflict of Kiev and Donbass,” the foreign policy establishment claims.
