Многотысячный митинг-реквием, посвященный пятой годовщине трагических событий, связанных с обстрелом Донецкого аэропорта, гибелью мирных граждан и развертыванием вооруженного противостояния, прошел сегодня, 26 мая, на главной площади столицы ДНР, сообщает корреспондент официального сайта Донецкой Народной Республики.

«События, которые произошли пять лет назад, разделили нашу с вами жизнь на «до» и «после». Именно в этот день против миллионного мегаполиса Донецка были применены тяжелая артиллерия и авиация. Тогда это не укладывалось в сознании. Киевский режим, не желая признавать выбор Донбасса — независимость, свободу, справедливость, — решил применить все методы, имеющиеся в арсенале. Как военные, так и политические, и экономические.

Когда у них ничего не получилось, когда не удалось насадить нам свою идеологию, Киев, не задумываясь, перешел к убийствам. Нам, жителям Донбасса, отводились считанные дни, потом недели и месяцы. И вот уже прошло пять лет…

С одной стороны, это годы тяжелого противостояния. С другой – это годы государственного строительства и развития. Пять лет мы с вами изо всех сил пытаемся созидать. Нам нужно именно это. Но увы, война не окончена по сей день, слышны выстрелы артиллерийских систем и стрелкового оружия.

Могу сказать одно – свой выбор мы сделали пять лет назад и не свернем со своего пути. Нас не победить и не сломить!» — обратился к собравшимся Глава ДНР Денис Пушилин.

«26 мая 2014 года стало поворотным днем в истории Донбасса. Именно в этот день украинские каратели нанесли удар по мирному городу, по мирным людям. Но мы выстояли. И сегодня мы чтим память погибших на поле боя, убитых в своих домах. Военные преступления киевских карателей не имеют срока давности!», — сказал Председатель Народного Совета ДНР Владимир Бидевка.

A multi-thousand requiem meeting dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the tragic events that were involved with the shelling of the Donetsk airport, the deaths of civilians and the unleashed armed confrontation took place today, on May 26th, in the main square of the capital of the DPR; a correspondent of the official website of the Donetsk People’s Republic reports.

“The events that happened five years broke our life into “before” and “after”. On this day, heavy artillery and aircraft were used against the million strong city of Donetsk. Then it was beyond all apprehension. The Kiev regime, being loath to recognize the choice of Donbass — independence, freedom, justice — decided to apply all the methods available in the arsenal. Both military, political and economic means.

When they did not succeed, when they failed to impose their ideology upon us, Kiev, without hesitation, turned to murder. We, the residents of Donbass, were counting the days, then weeks and months. And now, five years have passed…

On the one hand, these were the years of a difficult confrontation. On the other hand, these were the years of state-building and development. For five years, we have been trying to create with all our might. We need exactly this. Alas, the war is not over yet, we still hear the shots of artillery systems and firearms.

I can say one thing — we made our choice five years ago and will not deviate from our path. We can be neither defeated nor broken!” Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin addressed the audience.

“May 26th, 2014 was a turning point in history of Donbass. On that day, the Ukrainian punishers struck the peaceful city, peaceful people. But we outstood. And today we honor the memory of those who fell on the battlefield, who was killed in their own houses. The Kiev punishers’ war crimes do not fall under the statute of limitations!” Chairman of the People’s Council of the DPR Vladimir Bidyovka said.
