Дорогие земляки! На протяжении многих десятилетий наш родной русский язык нуждался в защите, его у нас стремились отобрать. Все годы в составе Украины жителям Донбасса настойчиво навязывался украинский язык в ущерб русскому. Но у них ничего не вышло. Мы остались верны своей культуре, родному языку!
Сегодня, в 220-ю годовщину со дня рождения великого русского поэта Александра Сергеевича Пушкина, празднуем День русского языка. У нас есть возможность свободно, почтительно, торжественно отмечать этот праздник, потому что для нас это далеко не рядовое событие. Это в прямом смысле слова важнейшее завоевание нашего народа.
Мы, осознанно понимая, зачем нам это нужно, 2019 год в Донецкой Народной Республике объявили Годом русского языка.
Дорогие друзья! Я поздравляю с праздником всех, для кого русский язык является родным, всех, кто дорожит этим сокровищем, кто оставался верен русскому языку – и себе – даже тогда, когда проще было сдаться. Это действительно наш всенародный праздник! С Днем русского языка!

Dear compatriots! For many decades, our mother tongue, the Russian language, has been in need of protection, they have sought to take it away from us. For all the years within the boundaries of Ukraine, the Ukrainian language has been persistently imposed upon the residents of Donbass to the prejudice of Russian. However, they failed. We stayed loyal to our culture, our mother tongue!
Today, on the 220th anniversary of the birth of great Russian poet Alexander S. Pushkin, we are celebrating Russian Language Day. We have the opportunity to celebrate this holiday freely, respectfully and solemnly, because this is not just a workaday event for us. This is literally the most important conquest of our people.
We, consciously realizing why we needed this, declared 2019 the Year of the Russian Language in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Dear friends! I congratulate everyone who consider Russian their mother tongue, everyone who appreciates this treasure, who have remained loyal to the Russian language and themselves even when it was easier to give up. This is really our nationwide holiday! Happy Russian Language Day!
