Сегодня, 6 сентября, у монумента «Твоим освободителям, Донбасс!» и памятника «Погибшим воинам-афганцам» состоялся торжественный митинг, посвящённый 76-й годовщине освобождения Донбасса от немецко-фашистских захватчиков. Об этом сообщает пресс-служба администрации Донецка.

«Сегодня мы склоняем головы перед памятью тех, кто ценой собственной жизни защитил человечество от фашизма. Слава ветеранам, живущим сегодня среди нас! Вечная память их товарищам, павшим в боях за освобождение родного края! Мы гордимся подвигом освободителей Донбасса!» — обратился к участникам митинга мэр Донецка Алексей Кулемзин.

Ветеран Великой Отечественной войны Виктор Федорович Шакула поделился с присутствующими земляками воспоминаниями о тяжелых военных годах и пожелал народу Донбасса скорейшего мира и благополучия.

Присутствующие на митинге почтили память героев-освободителей Донбасса, не вернувшихся с поля боя, минутой молчания и возложили цветы к мемориалу «Твоим освободителям, Донбасс!», а также к памятникам «Погибшим воинам-афганцам» и «Погибшим гражданам Донецкой Народной Республики». Митинг закончился троекратным залпом салютной группы и выступлением большого хора, в исполнении которого прозвучали самые известные песни военных лет. После митинга все желающие смогли посетить полевую кухню.

A solemn rally dedicated to the 76th anniversary of the liberation of Donbass from the Nazi invaders was held today, on September 6th, at the monument to the liberators of Donbass and the monument to the Fallen Afghan Warriors. This is reported by the press service of the administration of the city of Donetsk.

“Today we bow our heads to the memory of those who, at the cost of their own lives, defended the mankind from fascism. Glory to the veterans living among us today! Eternal memory to their comrades who fell in battles for the liberation of their homeland! We are proud of the feat of the liberators of the Donbass!” mayor of Donetsk Aleksey Kulemzin addressed participants in the rally.

Veteran of the Great Patriotic War Viktor F. Shakula shared with his fellow countrymen the memories of the hard war years and wished the people of Donbass a speedy reestablishment of peace and prosperity.

Those present at the rally observed a minute of silence in tribute to the memory of the heroes of the liberation of Donbass who did not return from the battlefield, and laid flowers at the memorial “To Your liberators, Donbass”, as well as the monuments to Fallen Afghan Warriors and Dead Citizens of the Donetsk People’s Republic. The rally ended with a three-volley gun salute group and the show of a large choir, which performed the most famous songs of the war years. After the rally, everyone was able to visit a field kitchen.
