According to the weekly epidemiological monitoring data, 6,571 cases of acute respiratory viral infection and influenza have been registered this week, the total prevalence rate is 1.4% higher than the previous week, but 2.7 times lower than the epidemics threshold and 13.5% lower than in 2018, the DPR Health Ministry’s press service reports.
Influenza vaccination campaign is ongoing in cities, towns and districts. As of December 5, 2019, 75,206 people of at-risk groups have been vaccinated against influenza, including 8,384 medical workers (109% of the planned number).
Measles incidence has remained sporadic. Measles cases have not been registered this week.
According to provisional diagnosis, 89 cases of acute enteric infection (AEI) have been registered. Children aged up to 17 made 69.7 per cent of all the cases of AEI.
Food-borne way of infection transmission has been dominant (87.6 per cent). The determining factors in the transmission of AEI were: dairy products — 19.2%; meals made with irregularities in the procedure of their cooking and storage — 30.8%; meat and sausage products – 11.5%.
66 people bitten by animals turned to health care institutions of the Donetsk People’s Republic for anti-rabies aid. Anti-epidemic and anti-epizootic measures are ongoing. Health care institutions are provided with sufficient amount of anti-rabies immunoglobulin and anti-rabies vaccine.
Three cases of Lyme borreliosis have been registered among adults in Gorlovka, Yenakiyevo and Starobeshevsky District, 2 of them were infected in the DPR territory, and 1 outside the Republic (Kolomyya, Ukraine). All the patients infected are getting medical treatment.
From November 28 to December 4, the DPR State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service took 69 samples of drinking water, including 61 samples from centralized water supply, 7 samples from sources of decentralized water supply, and 1 sample from an epidemiological spot. A total of 69 samples were checked for microbiological, sanitary and chemical indicators.
