Today, October 23, Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin took part in the ceremonial congress dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement. According to the reporter of the official website of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Head of State summed up the results of the public movement’s work and outlined plans and focus of further development.
“Dear friends! Comrades!
The fifth anniversary of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement is a good occasion not only to congratulate each other, but also to summarize and analyze what we have accomplished and what had to be done better. And, of course, to outline further plans, to raise the bar so high as to make it interesting for us to achieve it and receive the best out of it.
Most of you remember the conditions under which our public movement was being created – the particularly difficult times, hostilities, and the formation of the State. People needed a unifying force to stand together. Moreover, there was already a unifying idea, the rejection of what was going on in Ukraine and the need to defend our values, our commitment to Russia.
The Donetsk Republic Public Movement became such a consolidating force. Born in wartime, it really became the vanguard of the country’s public life, the driver of all social processes. It is important that following the results of the elections, the deputy fraction of the DRPM became the leader in the People’s Council. Besides, the vast majority of employees and heads of government agencies are members of the movement.
A lot has been done over these five years. Indeed, DPPM activists have always been where they were needed most. It is difficult to overestimate the ongoing assistance and support for the inhabitants of the frontline territories. People’s supervisors always come where there are problems, from where there have been received numerous complaints. Painstaking work is being carried out in the reception offices of the DRPM local branches.
Dear friends! I thank all the members of the public movement, and, as you know, today we have more than 216 thousand members, for the great work done! I believe that we can consider it satisfactory,” Denis Pushilin said.
The Head of the Republic paid particular attention to certain issues relating to dealing with communications from individuals, public awareness and political literacy, and caring attitude towards ordinary people.
Activists, representatives of local branches of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement were awarded during the event.
