A number of Ukrainian politicians made statements recently that there would be no amnesty, which is enshrined in the Minsk agreements, for the residents of Donbass. Commissioner for Human Rights in the Donetsk People’s Republic Darya Morozova commented on their words in an interview with a correspondent of the DPR official website.
“Such statements are the road to nowhere. The granting of amnesty to all involved in the events in Donbass is clearly spelled out in the Minsk agreements. After more than five years of war, no one will allow criminal prosecution of the residents of the DPR and LPR. I recommend that the Ukrainian side do clean-ups in their territory and punish the nationalists and terrorists who conduct their criminal activities in Ukraine,” Darya Morozova stated.
In addition, the ombudsperson emphasized that such statements only set citizens of the people’s republics against Ukraine.
“The residents of Donbass stand for their land, their Russian language, so there are no perpetrators here,” she said.
