On November 12, the Military Historical Museum of the Great Patriotic War in Donetsk hosted a solemn ceremony where 120 new members of the Young Guards — Yunarmiya Military Patriotic Movement swore the oath of fealty to the people of the Republic. According to a correspondent of the DPR official website, Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin congratulated the young people on such a significant event of their life.
“Today you have a remarkable date! You swear to always remain loyal to your Fatherland, to be worthy citizens of our country. I am sure that you will be faithful to the oath you have taken here, within the walls of the Military Historical Museum of the Great Patriotic War, in the front of your comrades and associates. From now on, you should strive to be the first in everything: education, sports, manifestation of the best human qualities. A Yunarmiya member should be an exemplar and prove his love for the Homelandthrough his deeds.
Dear members of Yunarmiya! You have every opportunity to prove yourself and continue the cause of true patriots of Donbass, those who defended the Homeland at different points in time, who developed our land, who accomplished a labor feat. Look up to them! You are the heritors of the heroic history of Donbass. It is important that each of you take care of traditions, be armed with knowledge and have the firmness to defend the interests of the Fatherland,” he said in his parting speech to the Yunarmiya members.
The Head of the Republic thanked the parents and mentors of the Yunarmiya members for the worthy upbringing of the young generation.
The Young Guards — Yunarmiya Military Patriotic Movement NGO is a self-governing non-profit association, which was instituted at the initiative of citizens. Its activities are guided by the organization’s Charter, it has its own seal and symbols. It was founded on April 5, 2019.
The NGO is designed to enhance, perfect the personality, increase the prestige and authority of military service in the society, preserve and multiply patriotic traditions. The movement’s main areas of activity involve doing technical and military applied sports; conducting tourist and local history meetings, military sports competitions, field training camps, games, hikes, tours, exhibition performances; searching and volunteering; conducting events dedicated to memorable dates of the Republic, events concerning the history of the homeland, military glory and military traditions of the army.
DPR citizens aged 8 to 35 canwillingly join the Young Guards — Yunarmiya Military Patriotic Movement by submitting their application to the local headquarters and after swearing the Yunarmiya Member’s Oath.
