Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin supports the initiative to establish an Ecology International Scientific and Technological Center

On Monday of November 18, the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow) hosted the opening of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Economic Ecology and Ecological Strategy”, the Office of the Head of the Republic reports.

The event was organized by the International Association of Islamic Business (IAIB) and the federal state budgetary research institution “Federal Scientific Center for Agrarian Economics and Social Development of Rural Areas — All-Russian Research Institute of Agricultural Economics.” The conference is supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

It is attended by representatives of the legislative and executive authorities of the Russian Federation, members of the Federation Council, the scientific community, representatives of universities, experts and entrepreneurs from Russia, Germany, Finland, as well as the delegation of the Donetsk People’s Republic, headed by Head of State Denis Pushilin. The DPR delegation includes Minister of Foreign Affairs Natalya Nikonorova, Chairman of the Central Republican Bank Andrei Petrenko, and People’s Council deputy Vladimir Pakreyev.

At the official opening ceremony, the conference participants were welcomed by Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin, President of the International Association of Islamic Business Marat Kabaev, and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Alexandra Ochirova.

In his speech, the Head of the Republic supported the initiative to create the Ecology International Scientific and Technological Center as a platform for representatives of science, politics, and entrepreneurship to solve environmental problems, and also expressed hope that the conference would open up new directions for the joint development of the Russian Federation and the DPR.

“I welcome the participants and guests of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Economic Ecology and Environmental Strategy” on behalf of the Donetsk People’s Republic!

This topic is highly relevant for our State, since the Republic possesses a significant concentration of natural resources and a high industrial potential.

In the context of the formation of the major state institutions, we continue to improve the regulatory framework in the field of ecology, conduct environmental monitoring, and fulfill our obligations to protect the environment. To protect the ecosystem of the Donetsk People’s Republic, we expect a responsible approach from business, which should especially focus on the introduction of the best technologies at industrial enterprises, which will help reduce the negative impact on the environment.

I support the initiative to establish an Ecology International Scientific and Technological Center which will become a platform for representatives of science, politics, entrepreneurship to solve the problems of environment, the preservation and rational use of natural resources, along with the environmental economy as an innovative direction for the development of nature.

It is important that the conference will raise issues of the formation of an environmental strategy, the effective organization of management of the environmental protection system, as well as the profitability of investments aimed at environmental projects.

I emphasize that the DPR needs innovative technologies to assess environmental risks, involve international organizations which would objectively reflect the situation in the Republic in solving environmental problems. At present, issues of anthropogenic and military nature are being added to these problems, the complex impact of which on the environment has been little studied in world practice and is especially relevant for us today.

We highly appreciate the initiatives of the International Association of Islamic Business to cooperate with environmental experts, representatives of relevant government departments, with active members of the scientific community and public associations. I hope that this conference will open up new prospectives for the joint development of the Russian Federation and the Donetsk People’s Republic,” Denis Pushilin addressed the participants.

As the Adviser to the Head of the DPR on Science and Technology, authorized representative of the International Association of Islamic Business Igor Mitrokhin, when talking to the press, emphasized that the conference opens up new opportunities and new lines.

“This conference is important because it opens up the fields that are not covered by anyone today. This is the economics of ecology. Everyone thinks about technology, no one counts money for this or that thing, but no one thinks about its chemical composition and how much money it will take to utilize it later,” Igor Mitrokhin said.

He also noted that at the conference there will be considered the establishment of the Ecology International Innovation Technology Center, in the creation of which there will take part the Donetsk People’s Republic.

The Сenter will be engaged in the implementation of environmental technologies not in Russia alone, but also around the world. According to him, the Donetsk People’s Republic will also become one of the manufacturers of environmental equipment.

The International Scientific and Practical Conference “Economic Ecology and Ecological Strategy” was followed by a plenary session, during which there were raised issues of international cooperation in the field of ecology, global challenges and threats to environmental security, promising technologies for environmental protection, transboundary environmental problems, processing of production and consumption wastes, and also approaches to the development of environmental standards.
