The Republic is continuing to implement the programme to restore private houses damaged as a result of hostilities. According to the correspondent of the official website of the Donetsk People’s Republic, today, on December 10, the Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities, Sergei Naumets, personally monitored the progress of restoration works in the village of Lyubovka.
“To date, as part of this programme, 56 houses have been restored in the particularly affected districts of Donetsk — the Kirovsky, Kievsky and Kuibyshevsky districts, as well as in the village of Lyubovka. Works are still ongoing at 37 sites; it is planned to complete them before the year is over. In order to avoid defects, builders are gradually expanding the scope of work. The list of objects is compiled at the local councils’ level with the participation of the Construction Ministry and representatives of the humanitarian mission. When choosing objects, priority is given to vulnerable segments of the population,” Sergey Naumets said.
According to the Minister, within the framework of this programme, it is planned to restore approximately 225 houses which have suffered above 30 per cent destruction. The repairs are intended to restore the thermal circuit (damaged walls, windows, doors). The general contractor in the DPR territory for this programme is a subordinate enterprise of the Construction Ministry, Stroyresurs State enterprise.
As will be recalled, earlier this year, as part of such activities, there was completed the restoration of 307 private residential buildings damaged by hostilities in Donetsk, Dokuchayevsk, Debaltsevo, Gorlovka, Enakiyevo, Makeyevka, Yasinovataya, Shakhtyorsk.
In 2018, humanitarian organizations accredited in the Republic provided assistance to 2,844 households, allocating construction materials (windows and double-glazed windows, etc.) to the population, along with, in some cases, attracting contractors. Similar works in the current year have already covered 1,173 addresses.
