On air of the “In full swing” program hosted by Maya Pirogova on the Respublika radio, DPR People’s Council deputy Elena Shishkina and military correspondent and combatant Gennady Dubovoi discussed the Minsk Agreements’ implementation on the part of Ukraine.
“As we all know, the Minsk Agreements clearly spell out the items in chronological order. After the meeting of the Normandy Four leaders, Zelensky can no longer claim that he has nothing to do with the agreements as they had been signed before he took the President’s Office. Now the new President of Ukraine personally affixed his signature to the communiqué and committed himself to implement each paragraph of the agreement,” Elena Shishkina said.
In turn, Gennady Dubovoi noted that it would be of no benefit to the Ukrainian authorities to end the war.
“Now the Ukrainian government blames all economic problems on the war and it’s very convenient for them. But in fact, the Minsk Agreements are a tool to saving Ukraine, preserving its territorial integrity,” Gennady Dubovoi commented.
The military correspondent also added that granting Donbass a special status would allow for the establishment of balanced relations with the other regions and will contribute to the European integration of Ukraine while maintaining friendly relations with Russia.
“The continuation of the existing policy will result in the fact that Donbass will completely withdraw from Ukraine, and the rest of the regions will demand greater autonomy due to the crisis in the country, which is fraught with unpredictable consequences and the collapse of the Ukrainian state,” Gennady Dubovoi said.
“Ukraine will be forced to end the war peacefully, stop killing civilians, destroying housing and infrastructure,” Elena Shishkina summed up.
